About Us

This program, officially known as the 'Cybersecurity Workshop and Competition: Tactical Assault & Mastery in Information Network Games (TAMiNG iCTFF8)', is a workshop and competition focused on cybersecurity.

The program, organised by the Networking Club (NETS) Faculty of COmputer & Mathematical Sciences (FSKM) of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Melaka Campus Jasin, will be held from December 2025 to January 2026. It is a hybrid event, with both online and in-person sessions. The competition includes a Capture The Flag (CTF) component and is open to students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Melaka Campus Jasin, as well as students from other public and private universities across Malaysia.

It is a comprehensive cybersecurity program featuring a series of activities to meet its objectives, including a workshop, competition, talks, forum, meetup, and exhibition.

The main objectives of the program are to promote interest and awareness in cybersecurity among students, and to provide a platform for them to apply their knowledge in a practical setting. Specifically, it aims to:

  • Provide an avenue for students to develop their skills and knowledge in cybersecurity.
  • Increase student awareness of the importance of cybersecurity.
  • Allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in a hands-on environment.
  • Foster a competitive spirit and teamwork through the Capture The Flag (CTF) competition.
  • Serve as a platform for students to network with peers and industry professionals.

FAQ

  • How to participate?
  • As of the time of writing this FAQ, the programme is in the process of gaining approval for its paperwork from the Student Affairs Division (HEP) of UiTM Melaka Branch. Once approved, registration will open immediately.
  • What is the registration fee?
  • The registration fee is free.
  • How many categories are there?
  • There are two categories: a Student category and an Alumni category for those who have graduated in the last five years. For previous winners of the ICTFF are not permitted to participate in the student category but are allowed in the alumni category.
  • How many rounds are there?
  • The qualification round is held online and is unlimited, but for the final round, each university can only send one team per category. This means a single university has the opportunity to send two teams in total. Teams made up of students from mixed universities will not affect any single university's quota.
  • If I am a school student?
  • Yes, you can enter under your school's name. However, we don't have a specific high school level for the competition; the questions are at a university level. If you're willing to compete at that level, you can. You will need to form a team of three people.
  • means?
  • The same rules apply to university students entering the Alumni category. The questions are at the next level up, but students are allowed to enter if no alumni are representing that university. However, alumni are not allowed to enter the student category.

Information will be updated from time to time!
